Call for Projects

Photographs and negatives lie neglected almost everywhere. They surface in family estates, in forgotten corners of libraries, in the papers of academics of many stripes, and in the possession of auctioneers, antique dealers, sellers of eclectica, serious hobbyists, travelers, collectors, and professional photographers.

One of the missions of LostLightProject.org is to discover and identify visual records of disappearing culture in need of preservation. The organization also adopts a number of projects for digital preservation, documentation, and public dissemination.

Please contact us with information about visual materials in need of rescue, attention, or public dissemination, or specific project proposals in need of funding. We have not yet developed formal guidelines for projects, but a look at our current projects will give an indication of the kind of material that attracts our interest. Our interest is global even though at present we have projects active in but three primary areas.

An initial short query by e-mail will receive response within 5 to 10 days. We look forward to hearing from you.
